Post 10 - The empire of English

Learning the English language has aroused negative and positive feelings in me. Because I really like to learn it, but throughout my life I have encountered many difficulties. In this post, I will talk about some.
First, I have serious problems with pronunciation when I speak in public. Although with friends I pronounce the words well, the nervousness and the pressure to do well in front of an audience, I play a dirty trick and pronounced bad even very obvious things.
Second, I usually confuse verb tenses. This hurts in that when I want to say things, they may be understood differently. Grammar is not mine, I like everyday conversation more.
And third, I'm very embarrassed to speak in English, in fact, in my mind I can talk quietly in Spanish, English and Spanglish. But it makes me nervous to think I can talk incoherently, and my mind goes blank.
There are two ways I use to improve my English: Watch movies in their original language and pay attention to the language. And read papers in English about things I use, focused on psychology.
I also want to talk about the importance of English in the globalized world. It is a fundamental tool, because historically it has been denominated as the universal language. Although I believe it important, I would like it to be another universally invented language, because it is unfair that the stress I have to undergo to learn English, does not have to happen to children who speak English natively.

And you, what techniques do you use to improve your English?
